British Prime Minister suffers another blow as he watches his club Southampton get relegated from the Premier League

Rather than furnishing an escape, soccer only compounded British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s straits as he watched his platoon Southampton succumb to a 2- 0 loss against Fulham, condemning it to deportation from the Premier League.

It marked the end of a delicate 10 days for Sunak after his Conservative Party suffered a resounding defeat at the swath of external choices held across England last week, and as he wrestles to keep his party from tearing itself piecemeal.

Sitting in the daises at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, Sunak watched two alternate- half Fulham pretensions – from Carlos Vinícius and Aleksandar Mitrovic – end his platoon’s 11- time stay in the Premier League.

“It has been a veritably tough day for all of us, ” Southampton director Rubén Sellés said latterly, according to the club’s website. “ For the specialized staff, for the players, but especially for our suckers, who have been supporting Southampton their entire life.

“It’s delicate. It’s not a one- day situation, we erected it up and we haven't been good enough. ”

Sunak’s love for his babyhood club has long been proved; a 2020 memoir substantiated his father’s season ticket and an 18th birthday card inked by the team that “ came one of his most prized effects. ”

He indeed said during his leadership crusade last August that “ if I could run Southampton football club, I would be a veritably happy man. ”

During that crusade, still, Sunak also committed a gaffe, saying that he was looking forward to Southampton playing Manchester United that weekend when it was facing Leicester City.
