Hire Looney Tunes Animators! Coming Soon Luffy Mode Gear 5
Good news for One Piece lovers. One of the popular western cartoon animators, Looney Tunes, is joining the upcoming One Piece episode project.
On May 16, one of the Looney Tunes cartoon animators, Ole Christian Løken, reported that he was recently working on One Piece animation by sending a visualization of Luffy in Gear 5 mode.
Coming soon, Luffy in Gear 5 mode created by animators from Warner Bros. and he will participate in the scene for Luffy in Nika mode in every episode of the anime One Piece later.
Based on information from his Twitter account, quoted from animesenpai.net, Ole Løken, who was involved in the Looney Tunes film, Space Jam 2, has just finished drawing a visualization of Luffy's Gear 5 mode scene in the upcoming One Piece episode.
“Sending my cut/scenes for One Piece today.” Write Ole Løken on his personal Twitter account @OleLoken.
He added that animators who are familiar with the animation of old comedy cartoons are needed and it is a good thing for the One Piece anime if the animators are working on Luffy's new powers.
Ole Token himself is an animator from Warner Bros who has been involved in several Warner Bros animated films, such as Space Jam 2: New Legacy, Song of The Sea, Klaus, and The Breadwinner.
Although he didn't mention which episode he was working on, the thought of someone helping to produce the famous cartoon to animate Luffy's upcoming new power still makes fans more excited and have high expectations.
Meanwhile, the manga One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, revealed that for the fight between Luffy vs Kaido in the upcoming episode, he was inspired by the competition between two characters from one of the favorite cartoons of the 90s era, Tom and Jerry.
Which means, in the Gear 5 version of Luffy's battle, he really does enter the Toon combat Realm.
It would come as no surprise that a Western cartoon animator would join forces to help produce one of the series' crucial episodes to achieve the "cartoon" animation Oda was trying to achieve in the manga.
For information, currently the One Piece anime series has entered 1062 with the title "Three Swords Haoshoku Flow, Zoro vs King".
The story that will air on May 21, 2023 will be an adaptation of the story of manga chapter 1035 which tells of the epic battle between Zoro vs King.
While in the manga version itself, Luffy has fought Kaido four times and always defeated him.
It's clear that Luffy needs a boost of strength to fight Kaido who is famous as one of the Yonko who can't die and that's what happened in the manga.
Luffy just got a new power called Gear 5 or Hito Hito no Mi model: Nika which has absolutely no limits in chapter 1044.
That means fans will have to wait another 10 chapters to see the power of Gear 5 Luffy who can do everything he imagines with his new power.
Because for the depiction of Luffy in Gear 5 mode in the manga to exude a distinctive cartoonish feel and to visualize the same cartoon feeling in the anime, they needed someone skilled in the field.
