New record! One Piece Live Action Gets Positive Response from Reviewer Sites

SumberPulsa – Nakama’s worldwide enthusiasm for Netflix’s live-action series can be seen in the various realizations of stories based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga on Netflix.

If previously they managed to break the bad record for live action on the OTT service, now One Piece Live Action has stepped on the gas to become the most watched series, beating Wednesday and Stranger Things.

In the first week since its release on August 31, One Piece Live Action became the most watched series in 84 countries on the Netflix platform, ranked first in 60 countries, and became the most watched action series in 84 countries.

As well as being the best-selling live action series in the history of Netflix, it is trending worldwide, in particular on account page X (Twitter).

This was almost achieved by Stranger Things season 4 and Wednesday, which previously only managed to reach 83 countries.

This exciting news was shared by the @newworldartur account via a tweet on X.

“One Piece Live Action reaches the largest audience in 84 countries, more than any other show in Netflix history,” he wrote.

The One Piece live-action series premieres internationally on Netflix in August 2023.

Although fans of author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda’s manga series have mixed opinions about the adaptation, most of them are optimistic and excited about its release.

Some initially pessimistic fans began to believe in the series’ potential after seeing early reviews, trailers, additional promotional materials, and more.

Previously, Netflix’s bad record for live-action was broken by the latest series based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, especially One Piece. The live-action version of the adventure story of Luffy (Inaki Godoy) and his team received the highest score of 94% from the audience.

More than 2,500 people rated the series highly, helping it pass the Certified Fresh threshold of 81%.

Apart from that, many positive reviews were written about the foresight of Oda and the production team, as well as the performances of the actors who made the dreams of One Piece fans come true.

For example, on Rotten Tomatoes, One Piece Live Action received a positive review with a Certified Fresh rating of 81%.

Nakama’s worldwide enthusiasm for Netflix’s live-action series. Several film critics and journalists have enjoyed One Piece’s elaborate story straight on Netflix, its novels, thrilling stories, fighting styles, and hilarious acts of its characters, including:

Bent Sockol (screen rant)

“The Live Action One Piece packaging offers something interesting for both long-time fans and those who are just starting to learn what One Piece is all about.”

Arrezou Amin (collider)

“There’s still a lot of story left to tell at the end, and I hope one day we get to see it. But with only these eight episodes of One Piece, players and storymakers will experience a very fun, classic, and, most importantly, satisfying adventure.”

Megan Peters (comic book)

“Like superhero films before it, live-action anime is making a comeback in Hollywood, but this curse must end. Netflix’s production of One Piece marks a definite change in this bad reputation. Netflix’s One Piece really deserves to tell the story of the pirate king.”

Brian Truitt (USA Today)

“[An] energetic crossover between “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Scott Pilgrim”, with a “Doctor Who” twist A story full of passion and adventure in the style of “Stranger Things”.

Will Sepinwall (Rolling Stone)

“The deeper we dive into each of these parts and the more we learn about each crew member, the more we will be drawn into the story of One Piece.”

One Piece manga artist, Eiichiro Oda admitted that he was actually surprised by the excitement that occurred because it took seven years for his manga world to become something truly interesting.

There was a lot of effort from all the teams involved, from the cast, the production design team that created the world of One Piece, and the costumes, to the way they presented the dialogue that allowed the actors to enjoy the conversation, not just 2-dimensional images.

One of the things that occupied Oda, who was given the most time and attention to this project, was finding the right actor for the character of Monkey D. Luffy.

“When I created Luffy, I drew what I thought was the most animated boy I could imagine. A kid who seemed normal on the outside but was completely abnormal on the inside. My biggest worry about the live-action adaptation is whether we will find someone like Luffy. I watched a lot of auditions, and when I heard about Iaki, I laughed out loud. He looked exactly like the character I drew in my manga. Intuitively, I thought, ‘That’s Luffy’,” he said.

Netflix’s production of One Piece marks a definite change in this bad reputation.

Each episode of the live-action series “One Piece” is said to be worth more than an episode of “Game of Thrones. The information was initially just a rumor but was eventually confirmed by Netflix’s German site, Netflixwoche said.

According to information from Netflixwoche reported by Sportskeeda, each episode of the live-action series “One Piece” will cost more than one episode of “Game of Thrones”.

The cost per episode of “One Piece” on Netflix is said to be more than 17 million US dollars, or around Rp. 259 billion. This amount actually exceeds the budget for each episode of “Game of Thrones,” which is 14.79 million USD.

However, Netflixwoche did not specify whether that was the per-episode budget for the entirety of “Game of Thrones” or just the budget for the eighth and final season.

To give you an idea, the numbers for season 8 were very similar to what the publication said, with a total budget of around $90 million for the season’s six episodes.

As a result, many interpreted the per-episode budget as referring to the 8th season of the HBO series and not the entire series. This interpretation is also supported by the fact that the eighth season of Game of Thrones will have the episodes with the highest production costs.

This means that if the numbers being discussed are for the entire series, the odds will be much lower. However, this is still just speculation because there has been no confirmation regarding this matter.***
