Among Us is a multiplayer game where you work with other crewmates to complete tasks before one or more impostors can kill everyone aboard.
A highly popular and straightforward game Its popularity only reached that far in 2020, when it became the center of attention for gamers because it turned out that its gameplay was quite unique.
Since its launch in 2018 as an indie game title, Among Us has become one of the games frequently played during the height of the pandemic, making staying at home more bearable given the lockdown.
And since its popularity skyrocketed, this game has started to present significant updates, including the most recent one announced in the Nintendo Direct last night: the new Among Us map!
The new information from Innersloth, the developer of Among Us, announces the presence of a new map called “The Fungle”. Reportedly, this map will be released soon for players to enjoy finding impostors.
The announcement was also accompanied by several short clips where astronauts were stranded on a mysterious deserted island and, for the first time in the game’s history, it all happened outside.
Which is why the name of this new map is “Fungle” an abbreviation of “fungus” and “jungle.”.
The map description reads: “Welcome to the Fungle, a mysterious, mushroom-filled island teeming with hiding spots, tasks, and secrets to discover—but beware of the Impostors bent on eliminating everyone!”
The fifth Among Us map has new tasks to complete, including dicing vegetables and roasting marshmallows. You play as Crewmates who try to find who the Impostors are within the team.
You will try your best to eliminate these Impostors to successfully serve and win the game. All’s fun and games on this island, apart from the pesky murdering. But let’s not bicker and argue about who’s killed who.
This new map appears to be bright, breezy, and full of colorful spores that make the whole experience as creepy and mysterious as it can be.
It is also known that this map will have many hidden secrets, Easter eggs, or some kind of hint that there will be crossovers with other games.
Despite the warm and sunny disposition of the video, don’t forget that you are still tasked with completing all your tasks as well as finding all the impostors.
Apart from that, the impostor is also equipped with several mushroom methods to sabotage and kill other players. Don’t worry; the old features that were in the old map will also remain in this new map.
What’s puzzling is if the mushroom spore that was seen in the video will play a role in making the difficulty of the game even harder. Will this help the impostors in the crew, or will this be something that they will have to deal with as well?
Besides those listed above, we do know that this new Among Us map that will be available on the Nintendo Switch, The Fungle, is the fifth map in the game.
This means that players don’t have to wait too long to be able to play on the newest map of the Among Us game. Unfortunately, the development team over at Innersloth has yet to reveal a final release date.
Although the Nintendo Direct did not announce the exact date, this new Among Us Map from Innersloth will be available on the Nintendo Switch as well as on Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X|S and is set to be released this October 2023.
